Our Quality Control
System
For us mediocrity is
not acceptable. We think our and your clients deserve better:
a high-quality manual or brochure that matches the first-class
product they chose to buy.
With this goal in mind, we developed a quality control process
for all our translation, editing and localization services:

Specialized Document Translation -
in all our Areas of Expertise
Quality and accuracy are monitored throughout every stage
of a translation project. The following measures we adopted
will ensure that your documents are error-free:
- Both the translator and editor have Romanian
as their native language and live in Romania, to
ensure that no language nuance is lost in translation.
- They are both specialists,
either with a degree in the subject matter or with extensive
experience (over 5 years) working in the respective field,
or both.
- For each project, a work order
is generated containing all the particulars for the job
and special instructions from the client, and a tracking
number assigned.
- Translators work with a glossary
that is created during preliminary translation, to ensure
consistency
- All projects undergo a 3 stage
verification process, consisting of basic proofreading,
substantial editing and post-format review.
How does this work exactly?
Please read below to see how your translation project will
be handled:
1. WE RECEIVE THE DOCUMENTS
AND REFERENCE MATERIAL FROM YOU
We receive from you all documents that need translation into
Romanian, together with any glossary, terminology database
or previously translated material or reference file that may
help us
2. PRELIMINARY TRANSLATION
The translator (who is either one of us or one of our team
members) performs a preliminary translation (draft translation)
of your documents, which will identify all terminological,
linguistic, structural and cultural issues of your document
3. CLARIFICATION OF ISSUES
During the preliminary translation we will contact you to
clarify any issues that arise
4. GLOSSARY CREATION
During the preliminary translation we identify and, especially
for large projects, we make a glossary list or database of
all specific terminology used in the document, with the appropriate
translation, and, if needed, definitions or examples for each
item. After we agree upon the translation of your company’s
specific terms, the glossary will remain in our possession,
so it can be used for any future projects you may have.
If necessary, we can send you the glossary, for your own use,
in which case it will be invoiced separately, as a Terminology
Research service.
5. FINAL TRANSLATION
The translator finishes the translation, incorporating all
changes that are needed
6. BASIC PROOFREADING
The translator rereads the entire translation, proofing it
for any grammatical and syntactical errors, terminology inconsistencies,
or ambiguities of message arising from poor sentence structure
7. SUBSTANTIAL PROOFREADING
AND EDITING
The translation is passed to the Proofreader, (also a translator
with Romanian native language and specialist in the subject
matter), who edits it, for issues ranging from grammar, syntax
and spelling, to the appropriate and consistent use of terminology,
style, readability and consistency in formatting and layout
(for example bulleted lists, headings). This step will ensure
that your document is of excellent quality, ready for publication
or distribution.
NOTE: For Specialized Translation,
Proofreading and Editing is done at no extra charge to you,
for the documents we translated. For a more detailed description
of this step, see also: Proofreading and Editing Workflow
8. DTP - LAYOUT & GRAPHICS
Where needed, the DTP specialist performs complete formatting
and layout of your document, incorporates translated text
into graphics or if they are culturally inappropriate, changes
the graphics with others approved by you
NOTE: DTP Services are not included in the price for Specialized
Translation; they are invoiced as a separate service, at an
hourly rate
9. POST-FORMAT REVIEW
Source and target files are compared, assessing completeness
and performing a review of formatting and graphics recreation.
10. WE SEND THE TRANSLATED FILES
BACK TO YOU, by email, FTP, post or courier
